梅子村是兴宁市福兴街道下辖的行政村，位于街道西部，辖46个村民小组，总面积6.5平方千米，是街道内面积最大的村。村中山地种有不少梅树，解放初期为纪念革命先烈蓝胜青，设梅子乡。[1]
地名由来与沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，村里山地上栽有许多梅树，村名由此而来；解放初又为纪念革命先烈蓝胜青，设梅子乡。[1]1958年在新陂公社内称梅子大队；1983年接纳新建大队，升为乡；1987年改作管理区，1999年改设村委会。[1]
