新寨村是广东省梅州市大埔县湖寮镇下辖的行政村，位于县城东部。旧名新村；1980年10月，因村内分有上新、下新两村和上寨、下寨两村，各取一字改称新寨。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据村情，东晋义熙九年（413年）立义招县、隋大业三年（607年）立万川县时，这里是县治的城郊。明代属大埔县清远都东山社的新村，清代归同仁社新村；民国十七年（1928年）为同仁区湖东乡；1949年属第五（湖寮）区虎中乡；1958年10月为湖寮公社的新村生产大队，1980年10月起改称新寨；1983年底改成新寨乡（属湖寮区）；村级建制此后依次是1986年的村委会、1988年的管理区和1998年起的村民委员会，沿用至今。[2]

全村分20个村民小组，在册866户、2530人，总面积4.2平方千米，耕地329亩（村情页，未注明年份）。种植蔬菜和蜜柚，土地被征用的村民多从事商业、小买卖或外出务工。页面称上一年农村经济总收入1487万元。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

通议第是旅居南洋的村人蓝镜清在清光绪三十三年（1907年）所建的殿堂式围龙屋，坐东北向西南，砖木结构，有房间104间，原占地3100平方米（博雅地名网）；百度百科则记占地2933平方米，建筑面积为2143平方米。2010年，广东省人民政府公布其为省级文物保护单位。蓝镜清曾在屋里办学；博雅地名网称他的后人中出了大学生28人、硕士16人、博士3人。[1][3]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，新寨村入选2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
