华石村是莲都镇中部的行政村，距镇街道3公里，分设26个村民小组，居民2715人，辖区14平方公里。[1]
地名与沿革[edit]
合作化时期，华兰、石根各为一个农业社，建公社时并成一个大队，各取首字，名为华石。[1]1950年设乡民会，1953年改乡人民政府，1955年为低级社，1957年为高级社，1958年为生产大队，1987年改称村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
文化与经济[edit]
「十里画廊」在村境内：石山连绵，山下有河流绕山而过。[1]华兰村每三年举行一次「窦潭节」。[1]黄塘、四罗、恩塘三个村民小组盛产柑橘，据称是封开县最早种植柑橘的地方。[1]2022年1月，省乡村振兴局把华石村列入2021年度广东省乡村治理示范村的创建单位。[1]
