名称与沿革[edit]

原有大岗岭和井头岭两片村落，合并后各取一字，定名大井。[1]

清代属苏州巡检司，民国属第五区柏塘辖下的乡；1949年10月后属二区柏塘乡，1955年10月属四区柏塘区公所；1973年设杨村人民公社大井大队，1983年为大井管理区；1990年起由大井村民委员会管理。[1]
