耀潭村是博罗县杨村镇的行政村。[1]
名称与沿革[edit]
村名最早为鹞子潭：明万历十四年（1586年），纪、王、郑、林等姓从福建漳州府迁来，因附近洼地积水成潭，形似鹞子而得名。后有文人嫌其不雅，改作耀珠潭，1958年公社化时又简称耀潭。[1]
清代属苏州巡检司，其驻地显村在县城以北百里；民国属泰美辖下的维新乡；新中国成立后，1949年划入泰美乡（二区），1952年改属泰美区（五区），1956至1959年间并入杨村乡。1973年起为杨村人民公社，1986至1989年称杨村镇管理区；1990年起由耀潭村民委员会管理。[1]
