名称与沿革[edit]
由埔尾和连塘两片合并而成，各取一字得名。[1]
清代属苏州巡检司，民国属显村圩第六区清平乡，1949年10月后属三区显杨乡；1955年10月，桔子区公所下设埔连乡；1958年并入杨显乡；1973年成为杨村人民公社的埔连大队，1986年1月为杨村镇埔连管理区；1990年起由埔连村民委员会管理。[1]
