名称与沿革[edit]
据村情介绍，村子形成于明末，由杨村耀潭的分支迁来。先人建祠堂时，在放香炉盆的位置下发现泉眼，井水自然涌出，便以井水龙为名。[1]
百度百科则称其历史始于明嘉靖年间。[2]清代属苏州巡检司，民国属显村圩清平乡，1955年为桔子区公所井水龙乡，1958年属杨显乡，1973年设杨村人民公社井水龙大队，1986年为管理区；1990年起由井水龙村民委员会管理。[1]
古建筑与传统村落[edit]
2022年10月，井水龙村列入第六批中国传统村落。[1]百度百科写村中保留多座近200年历史的建筑，有客家围屋和碉楼，包括朱氏云记祖屋、泉记豪宅和水围碉楼。[2]
通奉第又名通奉大夫第、云记大宅，是广东省文物保护单位。相传朱熹后人朱时瑛（第九世）约在明嘉靖元年（1522年）自惠州水北迁到此村，通奉第为其后人、任从二品京官的朱萃瑛（号云记）所建。1829年朱萃瑛自京城返乡兴建，占地约3000平方米，用工8年，前、中、后三栋，附厢房，共有大厅、闲厅和横屋62间；梁架与屏风多有木雕，并贴金箔。[3]
