共和镇在广东省江门市鹤山市东南部，东南与江门市蓬江区、新会区交界，西邻址山镇，西北接鹤城镇，辖区面积89.93平方千米，下辖2个社区居委会和9个村民委员会。[1][2]2015年起，镇政府与鹤山工业城合署办公，镇域是鹤山工业经济的集中地。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

鹤山设县之前，这一带属广州府新会县；设县后归新化都。清光绪三十三年（1907年）推行地方自治，划入县第三区。[2][1]1957年6月撤区并乡，设共和乡；1958年8月改为共和公社，当年11月并入红旗公社，次年8月红旗公社分出鹤城、共和两个公社。[2]1988年起，镇以下设管理区；1999年管理区撤销，改设村民委员会。[1]

镇名取自当地圩名，圩名含「共济民生，和衷共济」之意。[2]

地理环境[edit]

镇域位于鹤山东南，属亚热带季风气候。佛开高速公路与江鹤高速公路在镇内交汇，江鹤一级公路穿镇而过，邻近325国道。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

据博雅地名网引述的镇情介绍，全镇有101条自然村，户籍人口约2.3万，外来人口约1.9万；另据百度百科，2019年末户籍人口为25113人。[2][1]

经济[edit]

镇内以高端装备制造、新材料及新一代电子信息三类产业为主，鹤山工业城已列入国家开发区目录，并是省级产业转移园。[1]2023年共和镇被纳入江门市承接产业有序转移的主平台。[1]2005年，全镇国内生产总值为4.95亿元，工农业总产值达19.45亿元，镇级财政收入2042万元。[2]

在榜单上，共和镇2025年位列全国千强镇第402名、全国镇域经济500强的第251名；此前的2024年4月，又进入广东省第一批乡村振兴示范镇的创建名单，2025年8月入选广东省第三批「百千万工程」专业镇建设名单。[2]

文化[edit]

镇内的大凹关帝庙是鹤山市文物保护单位，鹤山境内曾有二十余座关帝庙，保存较好的仅此一座。[2]2023年起，镇每年举办农村头雁擂台比武活动，由各村（社区）党组织书记汇报年度乡村振兴成果并评奖；2023年的奖金总额为420万元，2025年为连续第三年举办。[3][4]
