共和村在惠东县白盆珠镇。传说村里姓氏很杂，却始终没有出现过村与村、姓与姓、房与房的纠纷，新中国成立后就取名共和。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
早在1931年8月，共和已作为共和乡归惠阳县多祝第三区管，后来又先后划到该县第一区（1937年署设甲子步镇，1943年署设县城）。1950年起它与横江、白马三村多次合并、分开，1984年并入横江乡。1987年3月，横江乡再分出，据惠东府函〔1987〕14号文设共和村委；1989年改管理区，1998年起称共和村委会。[2]
