共和村是车田镇的行政村。早年有两姓先人在此定居，二者共同开垦土地、和睦相处，后人因此取村名为“共和”。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1951年称乡，1958年设共和大队，1983年改为共和乡，1986年改为村委会，1989年改为管理区，1999年重设村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年10月，共和村列入2019年广东省卫生村名录。[1] 2021年4月，该村获得2020年度龙川县文明村镇称号。[1]
