地名由来[edit]

新中国成立前此地有座红花寺，村委会据此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代归古博都，民国时期属第十区红花乡，新中国成立后属八区红花乡。1963年属水口公社，称红花大队；1968年至1973年，红花、东方红、后溪三个大队并成东方红大队，红花寺是它的大队部所在；1974年红花大队重新分出。1984年改称红花乡人民政府，1989年称红花管理区，1993年起属开平市水口镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

龙冈古庙建于清康熙年间，是宗祠与庙宇合一的三进建筑，庙内供奉刘备、关羽、张飞、赵云，供刘、关、张、赵四姓族人祭祀。[1]

人物与宗族[edit]

开平市图书馆刊载的《开平侨乡报》文章称，据族谱所记，苏氏开宗先祖苏南坡是苏轼的后裔，定居于红花冲罗村。[2]

荣誉[edit]

红花村在2020年至2022年连续三年列入淘宝村名单；2026年3月被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
