和平村位于江门市新会区罗坑镇东部，与岭源村、潭冈村相邻，离罗坑圩镇约500米，下辖12个村民小组[1]。村名取自村中和宁里、太平里各一字[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

立村者是林氏先祖富润，时间在元末明初；七堡的李姓、陈冲的陈姓随后迁来[1]。

民国时期划在第六区笋岭乡，1951年改归陈冲乡，1958年编入岭岗管理区，1972年才从岭岗大队划出另立和平大队，此后经和平乡（1984年）、村委会（1986年）、管理区（1988年），1999年定为村委会[1]。

经济[edit]

村域总面积3.12平方千米，有耕地1400亩、鱼塘676亩、山地858亩。常住520户、2115人，另有外来暂住人口200人；辖区有企业12家。村集体收入主要来自鱼塘发包，村民多从事种养、进厂务工和个体经营[1]。

村里的合兴农业机械化专业合作社由8名农机手发起，后来吸收14位新社员，共22人，注册出资总额110万元[1]。

文化[edit]

2023年5月，和平村的和宁村、咀头村、塘湾村入选2022年度广东省卫生村[1]。
