历史沿革[edit]
据村情材料，唐咸通年间（860—874年）此处已有居民，陈姓先祖到北宋康定元年（1040年）才在这里立村[1]。
此地民国至1951年归第六区的天湖乡，当年年底另设陈冲乡；1958年并入罗坑管理区，之后曾与冲邓合设大队，又几度分开。1984年陈冲、山咀、冲邓、围堤4个大队合成陈冲乡，往后依次改为村委会、管理区，后又复为村委会[1]。
地理环境[edit]
村域总面积6.03平方千米，以平原为主，另有少量丘陵山地；耕地2086亩，鱼塘665亩，山地约1003亩半；常住1184户、3636人[1]。
经济[edit]
传统农业以水稻为主，近年发展畜牧业和水产养殖[1]。镇的规划把罗坑社区与陈冲村一带划为轻工纺织产业升级区[2]。
文化[edit]
2019年9月，陈冲村列入2018年度广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位；2021年12月获评2021年广东省卫生村；2023年5月，村内的百发村、冲邓村、镇江村入选2022年度广东省卫生村[1]。
