历史沿革[edit]
此地宋元时期属潮阳里，境内有一处始建于唐代的仙涌寺旧址，现仍留有北宋石碑[1]。
1932年，本地华侨陈澄波的家族在这里筹建商埠，不久抗日战争爆发，商埠没有建成，但形成了一个圩集。圩集位于陈冲，因此叫陈冲圩[1]。
1984年设陈冲镇，1986年有陈冲居委会，1988年一度称陈冲圩镇居民管理区，2000年恢复居委会之称，2002年起改称罗坑社区居委会，沿用至今[1]。社区所在的陈冲，今天另设有陈冲村。
地理环境[edit]
规划把罗坑镇区与牛湾镇区并列为镇村体系中的一级，主要承担面向全镇及周边乡镇的公共服务，两处合计4.27平方千米[2]。
