新圩社区是佛山市高明区更合镇最北面的居民委员会，驻地在原新圩镇，社区因此得名，北接明城镇，西邻肇庆市高要区蛟塘镇[1][2]。社区内的朗锦村有明清祠堂群，是中国传统村落[1][4]。

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，今社区一带属迁修乡，下有朗锦、渡水、凤岗、天湖等村，以及锦园、鹿岗、江湾、圩竹、茶山、岳塘、新圩诸村[3]。1961年从明城公社分出新圩公社，1963年并回明城公社，1973年重设新圩公社；1983年有塱锦乡和圩市，归新圩区[3]。新圩居委会1987年2月出现，1999年再设，当时隶新圩镇[3]。2003年新圩镇撤销，改属更楼镇；2004年塱锦、茶岳两个村委会撤销，并入居委会；2005年随镇并入更合镇[3]。

地理与人口[edit]

社区总面积19.86平方千米，距原镇政府13公里，辖区内有一条街道和11个村民小组：岳塘、茶一、茶二、圩竹、鹿岗、江湾、锦园、朗锦、天湖、渡水、凤岗[2]。村情材料（未注明年份）记有1235户，常住人口4960人，流动人口1005人，耕地5335亩，鱼塘1300亩；其中约五成居民种植水稻、粉葛、土瓜和蔬菜，约两成养殖鱼、猪、鸡，约三成外出务工[2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

朗锦村的明清何氏祠堂群是社区内最主要的古迹，见朗锦村[4]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，新圩社区入选2018年度「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」；2021年12月获“2021年广东省卫生村”称号[1]。
