新圩村是梅州市梅县区丙村镇辖下的一个行政村，因在这里新开了一处集市而得名。[1]
地名由来[edit]
据博雅地名网，旧时集市设在河边，两岸无桥，往来靠木排摆渡，小河唇和上游的居民赶集须在井塘码头候渡，常受地方势力刁难，妇女尤甚。小河唇人便在新圩角另开市场，建有十几间带码头的店铺，方便周边交易，此地后来被称作新圩。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
新圩在清末归程乡县金盘堡，民国时属梅县金盘乡，1956年属丙村的金盘乡，1958年入丙村人民公社。其后1983年建新圩乡，1987年为管理区，1999年为村委会。[1]
