水井村是佛山市高明区更合镇西南边的行政村，与新兴、鹤山相邻，是抗日战争和解放战争时期的革命老区，距镇政府约15公里[2]。
历史沿革[edit]
明清时期，景顺乡含水井、拐塘、松坪、边坑、松塘、官园、杧坑，以及上大洞、下大洞、土岗、坳背等村；民国年间归二区的民安乡[3]。1951年12月成立水井乡，1958年成立水井大队，隶属高鹤县合水公社；1987年设水井村委会[3]。2004年大洞村委会并入水井村委会，2005年并入更合镇[3]。
地理与经济[edit]
村委会总面积9.7平方千米，下辖水井、边坑、松坪、拐塘、杧坑、松塘、官园、上大洞、下大洞、土岗、坳背11个村民小组；村情材料（未注明年份）记有833户，户籍人口3168人，常住人口1800人，耕地3425.53亩；特色品牌为德胜楼和合水粉葛[1][2]。
