历史沿革[edit]
龙首本属茂名县，1958年10月划给化州县；1961年设龙首小公社，由吴川县长岐区管辖；1964年改为大队，1965年隶属浅水公社；1983年设乡委会，1987年起称村委会[1]。
村情[edit]
据博雅地名网所载村情，村内耕地3731多亩，有三所小学；莲秀村由外出经商者出资规划建设，村里还计划利用高速路口发展车站、旅业等设施[2]。龙首村在2018年度评选中被列为「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位（2019年9月公布），2026年3月入选「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」[1]。
