高村是佛山市高明区更合镇最西部的行政村，位于山区，与新兴、鹤山两地的山脉相接，下辖高村、城村、獭坑、高坑、鸦奕、瓦塘6条自然村[2]。它是陈汝棠的家乡，有高村真受祖祠、陈氏祠堂、陈权烈士纪念碑和陈汝棠故居等古迹[2][4]。
历史沿革[edit]
明清时期，高村属景顺乡高村都；民国时期是二区的高村乡；1951年12月成立高村乡，1958年成立高村大队，隶属高鹤县合水公社；1987年设高村村委会[3]。2004年城村村委会撤销，并入高村村委会，2005年随合水镇并入更合镇[3]。
地理与经济[edit]
村委会总面积13平方千米，距镇中心16公里；村情材料称有683户，2670人，山地14000亩，耕地1800亩，鱼塘1500亩，有50多个养殖场，产品有水稻、粉葛、生姜和蔬果；2017年村民人均收入约11000元[1][2]。
名胜古迹[edit]
陈汝棠故居在高村537号，建于1893年，是三间两廊式的硬山顶建筑，原为市县级文物保护单位，2006年重修，2022年7月被列入「第十批广东省文物保护单位」，也是高明区爱国主义教育基地[5]。村情材料还列有高村真受祖祠、陈氏祠堂和陈权烈士纪念碑等文物古建筑[2]。
著名人物[edit]
陈汝棠（1893年至1961年），高村人，早年加入同盟会并参加1911年黄花岗起义；随孙中山北伐时官至中将军医总监，同时兼任陆军军医司司长；1928年出任西北绥靖区西江治安督导专员，并创办高明县立第三小学，自任校长；中华人民共和国成立后任广东省人民政府委员兼卫生厅厅长、广东省副省长等职，1961年在广州逝世[4][6]。1932年，他在这所小学里办起进步团体“力社”，于新高鹤边区组织农民运动和抗日活动[6]。村情材料说明，陈汝芳、陈权等革命者也出自高村[2]。
