中山社区位于佛山市高明区荷城街道中心城区的西北面，因辖区主要在中山路一带而得名。[1][3]社区由原中山、华山、跃华、荷美四个居委会整合而成。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1999年，这里分别设立了华山、荷美、跃华、中山四个居委会，同属高明市荷城街道。2006年，华山、荷美、跃华三个居委会合并进中山居委会，从此属高明区。[1]

社区概况[edit]

辖区面积1.83平方千米，东起荷香路—荷美街，西至大德路（沿秀丽河），南起沧江路，北至仁德路；社区简介称有9941户、居住人口约3万人，另有商业网点560家、农（商）贸市场2个、中小学2所、幼儿园3所（简介未注明统计年份）。[2]

司法部、民政部在2015年3月表彰了「第六批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」，中山社区在列。[1]
