北湾村是汕头市澄海区莲下镇东南部的行政村，2009年底2660户11594人。[1][2]陈松轩墓位于村内开智北路，2010年被汕头市公布为文物保护单位。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

约1500年的明朝中叶，吴、陈、郭等姓先到这里定居，与南湾、东湾同属三湾村。1914年分村，1950年独立设村，1957年属湾头乡，1959年后单独设村。[2]

人口姓氏[edit]

村域5.42平方千米，耕地4600亩。有陈、李、林、董、张等18姓，陈、李为主姓，陈姓来自建阳。[2]

经济[edit]

村民种稻、甘蔗、地瓜，后以蔬菜、瓜类为主，芥菜较有名；水产养殖约1500亩，养鳗、虾、蟹和贝类。清乾隆年间的“明合号布局”有织布机300多台。1985年在北堤头建成蔬菜市场，年销蔬菜万余吨。[2]

文化教育[edit]

光绪年间在赞祖祠开办开智学校，1994年建成新校舍，1996年评为汕头市一级学校。1949年前老正顺香班、老元正戏班成为潮剧界有名的戏班，1982年建北湾影剧场，设4883个座位。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

主要古建筑有福庆庵、文明桥、更楼和义园，祠堂12座、庙宇10座，榕奇古庙较有名。松轩公园内有明弘治年间修建的松轩处士陈公墓；陈松轩墓属明代古墓葬，2010年3月22日列为汕头市文物保护单位。[2][3]
