历史沿革[edit]
1914年湾兴村分为南湾、北湾、东湾；1950年同海后、北村、南份编为四联乡，之后属东湾乡、湾头乡，1958年与海后、北村合编103团，1959年后独立设村。[2]
人口姓氏[edit]
村域2.05平方千米，耕地1760亩。共12姓，包括张、林、黄、洪、邱等，其中张、林两姓居多：张姓迁自鸥汀，林姓迁自澄海凤岗里。[2]
经济[edit]
村民世代务农，兼捕鱼蟹，1978年后以蔬菜为主，芥菜、包菜较有名。洋东工业区1987年规划，莲湾工业区1999年与南湾合办，泰隆纸品公司2002年落户。[2]
文化[edit]
1890年在东昌祠堂办震东私塾。明代为抗倭曾在“营盘巷”驻军。洪厝内存有一只因洪大巴力大而得名的“石脚桶”。[2]
