村面积0.82平方千米，耕地481.9亩，共644户、3665人（年份未注明）。2013年工农业总产值4903万元，工业部分为4525万元，农业部分为378万元，农民人均的纯收入为8470元。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年，玉窖、后望、新厝三村曾合并为玉窖乡，后来各自恢复。[2]新厝也是贵屿双忠祭典的祭拜点之一。[3]

新厝村入选2020年、2021年和2022年的淘宝村名单；2019年9月列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」；2023年4月列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村创建单位名单」；2026年1月获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1]
