新厝社区位于汕头市潮南区两英镇南部的大南山北麓，南临陈沙公路，是钟姓从古厝分出的聚居地，也是革命老区村[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
康熙年间，钟姓先人从古厝村出来，在这里另建新屋，所以叫新厝[1]。
公社化时属美新大队，1983年建新厝乡，1986年改居委会，1999年复称新厝居委会[1]。
社区概况[edit]
全村1.8平方千米，有耕地199.1亩、山地690亩，人口4583人，含2个自然村、11个村民小组；既是侨乡，也是较早发展工业的村居[1]。2017年10月被评为第一批广东省卫生村[1]。
