上堡是广东省汕头市潮阳区谷饶镇的一个社区，位于小北山南麓、练江北岸，处在谷饶镇区的中心，镇政府一带的政治、经济、金融机构多设于此。[1][2]名称来自所在位置的形状，像一座碉堡。[1]据传明天顺四年（1460年）张氏祖先从饶平龙眼迁来立村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载沿革，明天顺四年（1460年），张氏祖先从饶平龙眼迁到此地安身，之后有林、陈等十多个姓氏的居民陆续迁入。[1]1949年划归谷饶辖区，经互助社、初级社、高级社各阶段，此后名称几经更替，先后称大队、乡、村委会、管理区，1999年起沿用现名。[1]社区党总支部成立于1955年。[2]

地理与人口[edit]

社区面积6.5平方千米，其中山地约占四分之一；该页写有4378个常住户，常住人口达25041人，另有外来人口约1.25万人，页面未注明统计年份。[2]

经济[edit]

上堡人多地少，不少人早年远赴南洋谋生，是一处侨乡。[2]社区商贸活跃，是潮阳、普宁、揭阳三地货物往来的集散处，有“小汕头”的说法。[2]改革开放后引进“三来一补”企业，并发展针织内衣的成套生产链条；该页载有规模企业30家，中小厂家800多家，年产值约20亿元，其中工业占98.5%。[2]

社区内有一所占地85亩的中学，在读学生2800多名，一所占地约50亩的中心小学，在读学生4500多名；小学被区教育局定为区一级学校。[2]
