八一社区是雄州街道下辖的居民社区，位于广东省南雄市的老城区，名称取自8月1日的建军纪念日。[1]社区居委会的范围南北从206号一带到陵园路的市一中，东西自光明东路153号到大修厂，分23个居民小组，居民约5840人（博雅地名网所载，未注明年份）。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区的前身是八一街。新中国成立初期设街人民政府，1956年下半年转为居民委员会，1957年至1968年上半年又以办事处的形式存在；此后十余年由革命委员会管理，1971年豪畔街因管理方便被划归胜利社区。[1]1980年初街上恢复居委会，直到2003年才改称八一社区。[1]

经济与荣誉[edit]

社区居民的年收入以门店出租为主，介绍中给出的数字约为18960元。[1]2019年9月，八一社区名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」。[1]
