荆岗村是雄州街道下辖的行政村，位于城东通往雄江的公路旁，距城区约3公里，包括里坑、瑶坑、荆岗三个大自然村。[1]村名由来是山岗上荆棘丛生，村民后来在此建村。[1]瑶坑有中共广东省委旧址。[2]

红色遗址[edit]

瑶坑旧址曾是中共广东省委机关在南雄办公之地，现为省级文物保护单位，也是省级中共党史教育、爱国主义教育和党员教育基地。[2]

人口与经济[edit]

全村2695人、609户，由19个村小组组成，耕地389亩，作物以花生、水稻、黄烟为主，黄烟为大宗（博雅地名网所载，未注明年份）。[1]村内修建过瑶坑和荆岗八仙洞的三面光水渠各1000米，村委会办公楼2009年重新装修。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年9月，荆岗村以火龙果入选省里第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村；2026年1月，又获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1]
