名称由来[edit]
浈江在这一带呈“之”字形绕村而过，地势平坦，水流平缓，旧有“三洲三百家，五渡五百户”的说法；元明时浈江自南雄到水口共设5个官方渡口，五渡就在三洲一带，两者常连称。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
五洲一带在1949年设有农会，其后先后改为初级社（1954年）、高级社（1956年）和大队（1961年）。[1]1983年政社分开，成立五洲乡；1988年称管理区，1998年12月管理区撤销，改设村民委员会，一直沿用。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
全村3700多人，收入以种植黄烟为主，党员86人（博雅地名网所载，未注明年份）。[1]2019年9月，五洲村名列「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」。[1]
