军田村是狮岭镇下辖的行政村，在镇的中西部，有32个自然村、22个经济社，面积7.18平方公里。传说宋末元初，元军驻兵于此，占用附近农田，当时规定当地农民可不交地方粮、只交军粮，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

军田大队革委成立于1968年3月，1980年8月改设军田乡人民政府，1983年1月又成立军田经济联社。1987年1月设立军田村委会，起初归狮岭区公所管，3月起改归狮岭镇政府。[1]

人口民族[edit]

户籍人口4317人、1114户，流动人口约5000人（该页未注明年份）。姓氏多达18个，包括王、罗、毕、严、钟、陈等。[1]

经济[edit]

广清高速、杨赤线和京广铁路经过本村。村内有企业300多家、商铺摊档100多个，村和村民的收入主要来自出租厂房、商铺和土地，也有外出务工、经商的收入。[1]

军田村连续三年（2020至2022年）列入「淘宝村」名单。[1]2021年12月获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号；2022年10月认定为2022年广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村（水产养殖）；2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2024年11月获认定为「2024年广州市充分就业社区」。[1]
