水口营村是广州市花都区花东镇东南部的行政村，花都大道从村域中部经过，面积324公顷，下辖5个村民小组，村委会介绍的总人口为1570余人（未注明年份），离新白云国际机场约15公里。村民多姓商，村里保存商氏祠堂和三副科举旗杆夹石，晚清探花商衍鎏出自这个商氏家族[1][2]。
地名由来与建村[edit]
据村中老人说，这里是九湾潭水的出口，称水口；又因明代曾在此屯兵驻守，称水口屯，后来叫水口营[1]。
村民的始祖商禄公原籍北京河间府沧州南皮县，是明初大将徐达麾下的将士；快懂百科的说法是他于洪武元年（1368年）来粤，洪武十二年调管广州左卫前所，永乐二年定居于此；博雅地名网把驻守的年份写成洪武十二年而括注1404年，两处纪年对不上[1][3]。
科举人物[edit]
村里流传着「连科三进士，同榜两贡生」的说法，说的是商廷修（光绪己丑恩科顺天乡试中举，殿试二甲）与商衍鎏等人[1]。商衍鎏中探花，其子商承祚曾在中山大学任教[1]。

百度百科称，村后低窿一带分布着300余株格木，所在的格木林公园被称为广州市首批古树公园；2019年，水口营村获评广东省「民主法治示范村」[2]。村民以农业为主，耕地1100余亩，种水稻、荔枝、龙眼[2]。
