望顶村是广州市花都区花东镇相对偏远的行政村，在机场高速北延线两侧，面积约9平方千米，下辖10个村民小组，村委会介绍的总人口为2498余人（未注明年份），离花东镇约12公里，有三条过境公路^[1]。

地名由来与沿革[edit]

村民先祖温良漫从兴宁县石码村迁来，见这片荒山被较大的山环抱、形如一张网，村舍又建在高处，称「网顶」，语音转变为望顶^[1]。

公元1711年，村民从兴宁迁往增城，因邻里不和，数年后于康熙五十年（1716年）迁到现址。1987年设村委会，隶属北兴镇；2005年2月归花东镇^[1]。

村里至今没有厂房落户，村民以外出打工为主^[1]。2017年10月获「第一批广东省卫生村」称号^[1]。
