大东村是广州市花都区花东镇西北部的行政村，面积约3.6平方千米，全村876户、3196人（村介绍，未注明年份），分15个经济合作社，离花东镇约5公里^[1]。

地名由来与沿革[edit]

村民迁居到一片较高的低丘台地，东、西、南三面地势较低；因这片台地在原花县县城的东面，称大东㘵村，后称大东村^[1]。

1950至1957年，爱民、民生、共和、集民等村合组「建新乡」。合作化时有东光、重光、星光、金星等社，1958年花东人民公社成立后合并，1963年初东光、星光两社合为大东大队；1984年至1987年2月称大东乡政府^[1]。

村集体收入来自出租厂房、商铺和私营企业的管理费，村民以种田、出租土地和外出务工为主；村属农田保护区，招商受土地政策限制^[1]。2022年，大东村被广东省农业农村厅认定为「2022年广东省一村一品、一镇一业专业村」（水产种苗）；2024年3月被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」^[1]。
