村距埔边约8公里。2009年博雅地名网记总人口2038人；百度百科的2024年数字是396户1760人。[1][3]
经济[edit]
村民主要靠海水养殖，兼做浅海捕捞和农业。牡蛎之外，还出产墨吉对虾、斑节虾、布氏新对虾和膏蟹，销往深圳、广州、香港。晒制蚝脯（“明蚝”）是传统副业。[1]养蚝的水域在黄江、龙津河、大液河交汇的咸淡水处；百度百科称村里养蚝已有300多年，年产量约1.8万吨。[3]区政府网站介绍，晨洲蚝以“肥嫩鲜美、酥甜无粕”著称，已办四届晨洲蚝文化节，并在申报4A级景区和地理标志。[2]
荣誉[edit]
农业农村部推介晨洲村进入2023年中国美丽休闲乡村名单；2022年1月，省乡村振兴局把村列入乡村治理示范村的创建名单（2021年度）；2024年4月，村又进入第一批广东省乡村振兴示范村创建名单。[1]2024年，晨洲村与新村村一起被评为第四批广东省文化和旅游特色村；2026年1月，晨洲蚝养殖系统被列为中国重要农业文化遗产候选项目，属第八批。[2][4]
