光明村在汕尾市城区红草镇埔边东北约2公里，背靠大岭鼓山，由吴厝埔、钟厝两个自然村组成，2009年总人口425人。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
公社化时期这里属南雅大队，其管理区在1989年设立，村委会则在1999年成立。[1]
经济[edit]
种水稻、番薯、花生，山上栽马尾松、发展水果，另有一处蔬菜基地。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月公布的广东省民主法治示范村（社区）2018年度创建名单中有该村；2020年12月获“2020年广东省卫生村”称号。[1]
