地理环境[edit]
村域面积11.2平方千米，半丘陵地貌，地质以石灰岩和深海沉积泥为主。2008年统计有水田面积1222亩、旱地面积133亩、山地面积4970亩、咸围面积1299.5亩。[1]
人口民族[edit]
2008年全村人口1624人（521户），分散在6条自然村。[1]
经济[edit]
海水捕捞和养殖是村民的重要收入来源。1991年，村里配合洪滘镇引进台商投资500万美元，开发咸围面积1249.5亩，带动了全镇的水产养殖。2000年旅外乡亲吴佳炎捐资建设湾雷村，2001年建成村委会办公楼，湾雷村小组同年评上江门市标兵文明村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1953年设乡政府，1958年成为生产大队，1984年改称乡人民政府，1986年起改称村民委员会，1989年又称管理区；1998年10月，恩平市政府批准定名湾海村民委员会。2022年11月，湾海村被确定为「2021年度全国综合减灾示范社区」。[1]
