地理环境[edit]
村域总面积5.36平方千米，地势平坦，土壤肥沃，属石灰岩地质。[1]
人口民族[edit]
据博雅地名网引述，2008年全村人口1509人（493户），分散在9条自然村，水田面积1615亩、旱地面积70亩、山林面积3532亩、鱼塘面积402亩。[1]
经济[edit]
1985年以后村里大力发展瓜菜生产，其中飞鹅蓢村小组在秋冬季节成片种西洋菜，面积在100至150亩之间，是横陂西洋菜的主要产地。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1950年为联合社，1958年成为生产大队，1984年改称乡人民政府，1986年起改称村民委员会，1989年又称管理区；1998年10月，恩平市政府批准定名横东村民委员会。[1]
近年的荣誉有：2017年10月被广东省爱国卫生运动委员会授予第一批广东省卫生村；2023年4月进入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建名单，2024年1月被确定为「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」，2026年1月获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。[1]
