地理环境[edit]
村域面积4.78平方千米，半丘陵地貌，石灰岩地质，土壤偏沙。2008年统计有水田面积1960亩、旱地面积198亩、山地面积5592亩、鱼塘面积167亩。[1]
人口民族[edit]
2008年全村人口1670人（523户），分散在5条自然村。[1]
经济[edit]
1996年村里多方筹资改建横南小学，1997年修通一条3公里长的水泥公路。潮溪里村小组在2004年为村前塘坦铺了水泥地面、装上路灯；2008年旅外乡亲陈显强出资百余万元，党根村小组由此铺好塘坦并建起文化楼和戏台，同年12月党根村评上恩平市文明村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
横陂1949年10月解放后，村域归横陂乡政府管辖；1952年划属横南乡。其后名称依次为横大队（1958年）、南华乡（1984年）、横南村民委员会（1986年）和横南管理区（1989年），1998年10月由恩平市政府批准定名为横南村民委员会。2023年5月，该村的党根村获广东省爱卫会授予2022年广东省卫生村称号。[1]
