历史沿革[edit]
新和原为高级农业合作社，1958年成为生产大队，隶属东风人民公社；1962年东风公社改设官窑区，新和属官窑区管辖。1983年改称新和乡，1986年撤乡建村，1989年起称新和管理区，1999年复设村民委员会，2005年并入狮山镇。[3]
经济与荣誉[edit]
社区简介记其耕地2139亩、鱼塘668亩，以种养业为主；佛山一环、西二环高速公路、广珠铁路等从境内经过。[2] 2011年又创建成镇级廉政法纪法治村、市级生态示范村、健康村，并得"十好"和谐文明村之称。[2] 广东省农业农村厅2020年8月公布的首批"一村一品、一镇一业"专业村中，新和村因西瓜名列其中。[1]
