历史沿革[edit]
据记载，开村始祖汝成公在元至正年间于华涌村附近放鸭为业，入赘华涌陈姓人家，后为就近耕田，于明洪武十四年农历七月十七日迁到此地建村。[2]当时属南海县海黄鼎司丰华下堡，民国时属狮山乡。[2]1958年属小塘公社，1983年复称大涡塘乡，1995年3月由小塘镇划归狮山街道，1999年改称村委会，2005年归狮山镇。[2]
名称由来[edit]
据百度百科，村西北有上千亩洼地，土名大涡塘，村名由此而来。[3]
