狮中村是佛山市南海区狮山镇西部的行政村，区划代码440605124203，辖12个村民小组。[1][2]名称出自“六狮”之一：东平水道北岸有一座形似伏狮的小山岗，称狮山，当地由此分出狮东、狮南、狮西、狮北、狮中、狮岭六个单位。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
解放初称狮中乡，1950年划入南海县第四区的狮山乡。[1]人民公社时期，狮中与江美一度分为两个大队。[1]其后一段时间是小塘区辖下的狮中乡政府（1983年至1989年）和小塘狮中村民委员会；1999年3月，南海市民政局批准设立狮中村民委员会，名称沿用至今。[1]

据百度百科，1938年底陈洞村民把炸弹藏进烧猪、用以炸日军，村里后来立了义民纪念碑；清光绪年间建成的燕溪社学，在抗战中曾是珠江纵队独立第三大队活动的地方；村内另有明清庙宇和清代祠堂。[2]
