莲子塘是佛山市南海区狮山镇的社区（原村），区划代码440605124216，位于小塘一带，濒临321国道。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1950年至1957年设小乡和农业社，1958年并入狮南大队；1961年分出设莲子塘大队，1964年复并，1978年再度划出。[2]1983年成立乡人民政府，1987年设村民委员会，2005年归狮山镇。[2]
经济与荣誉[edit]
据村委会介绍，辖区面积1.1平方千米，有4条自然村，常住1427人（448户）；以化工、铸造、制衣、电子电器等工业为主，农业种植花卉和蔬菜。[1]2003年获广东省卫生村，2008年为南海区首批四星级健康村，2010年为南海区平安村居。[1]
