中和村位于六祖镇境内。据传清光绪年间此地建圩，附近村民无需远行买日用品，给村民带来方便，“中和”为当地方言，意为调剂，村名由此而来[1]。2019年12月，中和村入选「第一批国家森林乡村」名单[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1949年至1953年，此地属新兴县第四区，设中和圩；1954年起改隶公平区，名为中和乡；1957年至1958年并入公平乡。1958年成为集成公社的中和大队，1983年至1989年6月复称中和乡，1989年6月设中和管理区，1999年改为中和村民委员会[1]。
