历史沿革[edit]
地形两边低、呈塘形，村民盼后代人才辈出、荣耀四方，故称荣塘[1]。
明代属开平县长静都，民国年间划入第二区马冈区。新中国成立后归第十一区，1955年属马冈区，1963年属马冈公社，称荣塘大队。1984年起，村级建制由大队改为乡，1989年又改设管理区；1993年开平撤县设市，划归马冈镇管辖，1999年改设村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。

村委会管辖区的人口为3065人（723户），其中劳动力约1680人[1][2]。
