桥头村位于三乡镇西北面，在三乡镇政府西北约0.8公里处，面积2.95平方千米。村名来自北宋时郑氏先人经一座桥迁来定居、此后建村的旧事。村北的桥头山上建有小琅环公园。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

北宋天圣年间（1023～1031年），惠州路判郑菊叟住在谷都榕树埔，后经一座桥迁来此地定居。他的第八世孙为祭祀始祖，迁居此地建村，村名由此定为桥头。[2]

抗战时期，桥头和乌石并为石桥，这里属于中山的抗日根据地。1953年设石桥乡，1958年设石桥生产营，1961年设石一大队。1983年改设桥头乡，1986年这里设立桥头村民委员会，名称一直保留到现在。[2][3]

地理环境[edit]

105国道和小琅环路贯穿村落，广珠公路经村南而过。村北的桥头山上，岩洞状的“小琅环”清代称石室，岩顶留有脚印，相传是神仙所留。[2]

人口民族[edit]

全村户籍人口1096人，常住人口超过2000人（均为2012年数字）。另有法人单位18个，2012年集体总收入为420万元。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

2005年，小琅环公园获得「全国优秀全民健身活动站（点）」的评定。村庄2008年为国家级生态示范村，次年又定为省级的。[2]
