上垌村属阳西县塘口镇。2026年1月，该村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程典型村」称号。[1]

地名由来[edit]

相传黄茅垌有上下两垌之分，村委会设于上垌，村名由此而来。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年隶属阳江县六区，1953年划入十五区并设上垌乡。1956年归塘口区，1958年5月入塘口乡，年底改隶织篢人民公社。1959年组成上垌生产大队，同年10月重归塘口人民公社。[2]

1983年设上垌乡，1987年2月改为村委会，1988年后隶属阳西县塘口镇。1989年9月撤销村委会，设为上垌管理区；1999年9月撤管理区，恢复村委会。[2]

2021年12月，新保村、周福地村入选「2021年度阳江市卫生村」。2020年8月，上垌村的水稻产业入选广东省首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单。2019年9月，本村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。2019年12月，上垌村入选第二批国家森林乡村名单。[1]
