历史沿革[edit]
南巢最早（1952年）是车头行政村的一部分，随车头先后改乡、改大队；1964年在振文公社下单设南巢大队，1975年转入樟铺公社；1983年设乡，1987年称村民委员会，1989年改管理区，1999年又改称南巢村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。
地理与经济[edit]
村域为丘陵，耕地约1800亩，林地约2000亩，水产养殖水面1000亩；境内的南巢水库库容30万立方米[2]。南巢鉴江码头有航船，可上行茂名、下行吴川[2]。主产稻米，也种蕃薯、木薯、花生、香蕉、芒果，盛产茹菇；全村有大小养殖场65个，养猪、鸡、鱼、蛙[2]。村里有一所完全小学[2]。
荣誉[edit]
2021年1月，南巢村列入湛江市「2020年度全市文明村」；2019年9月被纳入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」；博雅地名网另记，2026年3月该村入选广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇[1]。
