历史沿革[edit]
从前此地有一棵很大的梅树，村名由此而来。[2]
民国年间隶怀乡乡；1956年改为平梅生产大队。此后乡政府、管理区办事处等名称几度更替，1999年起定称平梅村民委员会。[1]
- 2026年1月，被评为广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
- 2023年5月，经广东省爱卫会评定为「2022年广东省卫生村」。[1]
- 2019年9月，名列2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单。[1]
经济[edit]
村里种植水稻、木薯、玉米、水果，副业和特色产业有竹器编织、三黄鸡、龙眼、毛纺织；据博雅地名网，上一年全村经济总收入约2030万元（年份未注明）。[1]
村里建有平梅工业园区，用「公司加农户」的方式经营竹器编织，园区内有竹器企业12家。[1]
