龙田村是上坪镇的行政村。村中田地连成一片，地貌形似一条龙，村名由此而来；1949年设村政府时，村名又沿用了原有的龙田书室。村内有龙田脐橙等村级产业。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

过去村民以种植为生，村中大片田地相连，地貌形似“龙”，因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年设龙田村政府，村名沿用原龙田书室的名称。1953年改设乡政府，1957年称管区，1958年改为大队，1983年又设乡政府。1986年起为村委会，1989年一度改为管理区，1999年再改为村委会。[1]

荣誉与产业[edit]

该村于2023年5月获广东省爱卫会评为2022年广东省卫生村。镇政府推行“一村一品、一镇一业”，龙田脐橙是村级产业之一。[1][2]
