地名由来[edit]
新中国成立前，石湖、田心坝等地合称“铁龙”，金龙在其末端，故称“铁龙尾”。新中国成立后，应当地干部群众的意愿，“铁龙”改为“金龙”。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1953年设金龙乡人民政府，此后经历管理区、大队等阶段，1983年复为乡政府；1986年起为村委会，1989年一度改为管理区，1999年重设村委会。[1]
文物古迹[edit]
仰天堂革命旧址位于村内，土地革命时期是龙川与寻乌边境的地下秘密交通站。村中的仰天堂为清初（约1670年）建造的古建筑，列为河源市第四批文物保护单位。江广亭在村子与江西定南县镇田村的交界处，建于明代，1983年重修，为龙川县文物保护单位。[1][2]
