上村村在埔前镇西南端，离镇政府2.5公里，占地约7.6平方公里；它是革命烈士罗焕荣的家乡，也是老区革命村和市党史教育基地。[1][2]

地名与沿革[edit]

村在埔前河上游，故称上村。[4]1951年归陂角乡，1958年公社化时属光辉大队；1993年划出，单设上村管理区，1998年区撤，建村委会至今。[3]

村情[edit]

全村614户2645人，下辖10个村民小组，村集体收入由2016年的1.95万元增至2018年的70万元。[2]

荣誉[edit]

广东省文化和旅游厅在2019年9月认定了第一批文化和旅游特色村，上村村在内。2022年1月，省乡村振兴局公布的2021年乡村治理示范村创建单位里也有它。到2026年1月，它又进入广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

罗焕荣烈士故居有两处：一处是楼角下罗氏祠堂，烈士出生地，始建于明末清初，约400平方米，有两个天井、两排横屋；另一处是楼脚下小组的旧居，清咸丰年间所建，T字形，现仅存墙体。[5]

著名人物[edit]

罗焕荣生于1900年10月，是黄埔军校第一期学员，1924年入党，后来在黄埔军校和广州农民运动讲习所任教官；1927年领导惠阳平山的农民武装起义，起义失败后被杀害，终年27岁。[5]
